New Delhi, October 13: Amid concerns here over North-east insurgents taking shelter in Bangladesh, India today said the two countries should work together to deal with terrorism as elements indulging in such activities respect no boundaries.
“Security remains an area of serious concern in both our countries. Terrorists and insurgent groups respect no boundaries and eat into the vitals of our nations,” Finance Minster Pranab Mukherjee said at a seminar on India-Bangladesh dialogue.
Mukherjee said the two countries have to work together to combat trans-border activities.
“Illegal immigration, trans-border activities continue.
India and Bangladesh need to work together to combat this menace,” he said.
Mukherjee’s remarks come amid concerns by India that north-east insurgents have set up over 100 camps in Bangladesh. India has been pressing Bangladesh to address the issue.
