India has more than 10,000 developers who develop apps for Facebook, as revealed by the company’s heat map showing which countries around the world claim most developers.
The heat map depicted the locations of Facebook’s third party developers, who incorporate the Facebook login into their app or builds with the company”s software developer kits (SDKs) made available for iOS and Android.
According to Mashable, third party Facebook developers are not Facebook employees, but rather app developers who build Facebook functionality into their product.
The apps developed by these non-Facebook employees allow users to log in with their Facebook IDs or post back to Facebook, like Words With Friends or Nike+.
The heat map showed counties marked red as those with more than 10,000 developers, while those marked orange and chrome yellow indicated to countries with more than 5,000 and more than 1,000 developers respectively.
The countries with most Facebook developers include Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. (ANI)
