India among five favourite countries for FDI – Seminar in Urdu University

For Foreign Direct Investments, India is among the five favourite countries. After America and China, India occupies the third place for Foreign Direct Investment is in the six states, namely, Maharshtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. Other states of India contribute to remaining 30% share of investments.

These thoughts were expressed by the speakers who participated in a seminar organized by the Department of Commerce and Management of Maualna Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad on the topic “Foreign Direct Investment – Opportunities and Challenges”.

Prof. V. Venkaiah, in his inaugural address told that in other countries Foreign Direct Investment is done in manufacturing and production sectors but in India, Foreign Investment is in excess in service sector.

The service sector includes ten areas. He told that on account of better policies of the Govt. India will also be in the five favourite countries for Foreign Investments. Dr. Ali Khwaja, Director of Banjara Academy Bangalore, who is a management expert, in his key note address told they the days are not far when people from other countries will come to India in search of employment.

Laying stress on human values, he said that technology is created for human beings and human being is not created for technology. The prime objective of every technology is human being. All the activities which provide services to humanity fulfill the human needs. Prof. K. R. Iqbal Ahmed told that the future of India is very bright. India occupies an important position in the field of Foreign Direct Investment.

The two day seminar was well attended by the members of the faculty and the students. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Azeem conducted the proceedings of the seminar. Dr. Badiuddin Ahmed proposed vote of thanks. Dr. P. Prakash, V.C. of Ambedkar Open University attended the meeting as Chief Guest. Dr. Mohammed Samiullah Khan was the guest of honour. The organizers of the seminar announced that the research papers presented in the seminar will be published in the form of a book with ISB Number.
