India’s first Bamboo Investors Meet to be held at Bhopal from June 20-22

The BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh Government is organising country’s first Bamboo Investors Meet“Investing in Green Gold” here at Bhopal from June 20 to 22.
The objective of the meet is to identify potential investors, special investors segments and projects in bamboo sector, creation of an investor-friendly policy and making available a high-level market to bamboo craft-persons by strengthening rural economy. Confederation of Indian Industries will be the coordinator for the meet being held with the cooperation of Madhya Pradesh Bamboo Mission, Madhya Pradesh TRIFAC, Directorate of Institutional Finance and Laghu Udyog Nigam.
Madhya Pradesh Bamboo Mission, the nodal agency, will also serve as a bridge between investors and bamboo craft-persons. TRIFAC will ensure single-window system for investors. Directorate of Institutional Finance will give advice about nature of project like PPP mode, management agreement or independent project. Madhya Pradesh Laghu Udyog Nigam has been entrusted the responsibility of upgrading bamboo craft-persons’ skills.
Madhya Pradesh is the biggest bamboo producing state in the country. There are immense opportunities for bamboo-based livelihood here. Most economically important bamboo specie “Dendrocalamus strictus” is found in almost all districts of the state. Along with opportunity for bamboo producers, bamboo craft- persons and bamboo investors to share common platform, they will also have chance to interact with investors from country and abroad, industrialists and experts.
