Telangana Auto Drivers Joint Action Committee has announced indefinite strike from May 15 against continuance of e-challan. Union demanded to withdraw the new criteria for public transport drivers to have minimum educational qualification of clearing the Class VIII exams to obtain passenger service auto rickshaw batch and license. Besides this the union demanded suspension of Additional Traffic Commissioner Mr. C V Anand as he is taking no notice of the auto drivers who carry more number of passengers than permitted as a result the business of the auto drivers running on meters is getting affected.
In a statement convenor JAC Mohammed Amanullah Khan told that e-challans should be scrapped. He told that inspite of the fact that even some MPs and MLAs are uneducated, it is being made compulsory for auto drivers to pass VIII class which is uncalled for.
