Hyderabad, February 05 (INN): Telugu Desam MLA Jaipal Yadav on Saturday came down heavily on the state government for not providing nutritious food to students studying in the social welfare hostels.
Talking to media persons at Telugu Desam Legislature Party office, Jaipal Yadav said that the State Government was paying only Rs 16 per day as mess bill for hostel inmates. Comparatively, the criminals in jails are getting Rs 30 as mess bill per day, he said.
Demanding that the government increase mess bill in view of rising prices of essential commodities, he appealed to the government to take steps to upgrading facilities in the hostels. He said that the TDP would raise this issue in the ensuing Budget session of Legislative Assembly if the government fails to address the issue.
Jaipal Yadav also demanded that the government increase funds in the budget for social welfare hostels. (INN)
