Inciting speech case: MBT’s Majeedullah Khan Farhat, Amjadullah Khan Khalid exonerated

Hyderabad: VIII Addl. Metropolitan Sessions Judge of Nampally Criminal Court exonerated President of MBT, Majeedullah Khan Farhat and former Corporator, Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid in a criminal case of delivering violent and inciting speeches.

It may be mentioned that on 12th June 2015, MBT had organized a protest meeting at Chanchalguda Junior College ground against the encounter of under trial prisoners Vikhar Ahmed and his companions. The meeting was addressed by Chief Guest of the function, Mr. Abu Asim Azmi, SP MLA of Maharashtra. The protest meeting continued till late at night. Police had registered a criminal case against Azmi, Dr. Qayam Khan (late), Mr. Majeedullah Khan Farhat and Amjadullah Khan Khalid under sections 153 (A) and 188 of IPC. After investigations, police had dropped the names of Azmi and Qayam Khan whereas the cases continued against the other persons.

Police failed to provide evidence and could not prove the allegations, as a result of which Mr. Farhat and Mr. Khalid were exonerated by the magistrate.

Commenting on the judgment, they said that South Zone Police had registered these fake cases under political pressure whereas South Zone Police failed to take any action against Raja Singh.
