In a heart-rending incident, a pregnant woman was beaten up by her husband and in-laws with iron rods and sticks. Her fault was that she had already given birth to two daughters and her husbnad and in-laws feared that this time too she would give birth to a girl child. When she was shifted to the hospital in critical condition, it was found that her daughter was dead in her womb. This heinous crime has been done by no other than the people of Muslim community where daughter is regarded as a blessing.
According to details, 22-year-old Munni Begum was pregnant. After scanning it was found that the fetus is of a girl child on which her husband and in-laws forced her to abort the baby. When she refused to do so she was beaten up inhumanly.
Victims’s husband 26 year old Allah Bakhsh does welding work while Munni Begum’s father Abdur Rahman is a tailor by occupation. Munni Begum has two sisters and no brother. She too has two daughters. She had been aborted two times after she gave birth to two daughters. The incident occurred at Guntur distirct under Tenali police station limits.
Presently Munni Begum is battling for life in ICU of NRI hospital while her husband and in-laws have been sent to prison.
