Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy today said that the government was planning tax sops for those who produce power through solar and other alternative sources of engery by the Small and Medium industries in the state. Addressing a press conference on power situation in the state, the Chief Minister said the government did not impose any ‘ wheeling charges ‘ on importing of power by the industries. The government would launch awareness drives over saving of power in the state, he said adding the government officials have been asked to save power by using power efficient systems. The government was also planning to cut VAT on the diesel used for generation of captive power by the Small and Medium scale industries. To avoid wastage of power, the government was also planning to impose restrictions on function halls and hoardings, he added. UNI
