Hyderabad: Civil Service Coaching to Muslim students in Telangana will begin from Thursday. A function is going to be held in this connection at Secretariat in which Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Ali will distribute admission cards to the selected students. Although Civil Service coaching was provided to Muslim students earlier also, however the coaching was provided by the CEDM which yielded no significant results hence Telangana government decided to sponsor Muslim candidates in private coaching centres so that Muslim representation in civil services could be increased. Coaching expenditure will be borne by the government. The scheme began last year but due to delay in selection of coaching centres students could not get admission.
Current year Minority Welfare Department has entered into agreement with 3 private coaching centres where minority candidate will be given admission.
Director CEDM Prof. S A Shukoor who played key role in arranging coaching informed that besides Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Advisor to the government for Minority Affairs A K Khan and Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel will also attend the inaugural function, in which admission cards will be issued to the students and classes will begin from January 16.
