Imtiaz & Pritam promise not to kill ‘Aahun Aahun’

Mumbai, July 28: In last 3-4 years, how many times have we seen a real good promotional number getting completely killed since it plays when the actual film is through and the end credits start rolling? The screen reduces itself to quarter size, cast and crew details start scrolling up and audiences are already seen making a way through the exit doors.

However writer-director Imtiaz Ali promises though that in spite of ‘Aahun Aahun’ being a promotional track, it won’t be killed in LOVE AAJ KAL.

“We couldn’t have infused it unnecessarily as a part of the narrative because it wouldn’t have made sense”, reasons Imtiaz, “However, even as it comes in the end credits of the film, it won’t be wasted. Just like ‘Mauja Hi Mauja’ [JAB WE MET] which got its due respect, even ‘Aahun Aahun’ will have its place under the sun. You won’t find those annoying end credits rolling over the frames of ‘Aahun Aahun’ once it appears on screen. Don’t worry; gaane ko poori izzat di jaayegi!”

CHECK OUT: LOVE AAJ KAL theatrical exclusively with ‘Aahun Aahun’

In news for Saif Ali Khan’s double role jig, especially with a ‘Sikh Elvis Presley’ being the star of the show, ‘Aahun Aahun’ also features Deepika Padukone in a stunning Western outfit.

With Pritam putting together the entire Punjabi-English-Hindi mix composition in place, lyricist Irshad Kamil bringing the young flavour on, singers Neeraj Sridhar, Master Saleem and Suzanne setting the perfect mood and choreographer Bosco scoring high with the moves, ‘Aahun Aahun’ is a winner.

Says Pritam, “I too was conscious about the song placement in the film. However, it comes at the time when the film has taken a euphoric twist. It fits in extremely well with the spirited mood in which the film’s story concludes.”
