Imran Khan says no to VIP security protocol post receiving flak on social media

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf ( PTI) chief Imran Khan, who was slammed by social media users for travelling to Peshawar’s Army Public School in a large cavalcade in strong contradiction to his earlier stance against “VIP culture,” has reportedly said that he will no longer travel with heavy security protocol in the future.

While addressing a press conference in the federal capital, Khan defended his stance by saying that there were only six cars in the protocol but the fleet appeared bigger as he was travelling with his wife and other MPs, reported the Dawn.

He visited Peshawar’s terror-hit Army Public School, on January 14, two days after it reopened. However, he was forced to turn back as parents of the children who lost their lives in the Taliban massacre protested against him and refused to let him inside the school premises.

Empathising with the sentiments of the victims’ families, he said that he would have protested too, if he had been in their place because of the sheer brutality of the killings.
