Having received the treatment for back injuries he suffered from a stage during election campaign , Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan left the hospital in Lahore on Wednesday, but he would continue to receive regular physiotherapy.
Fitted with a specially designed spinal brace, Imran is now able to walk pain-free.
Imran was admitted to Lahore’s Shaukat Khanam Hospital for treatment after he suffered minor fracture in head and back injuries on May 7 when he fell off a lifter while being raised to a stage to address an election rally.
Yesterday, Imran walked unaided for over 300 metres with the aid of the spinal brace, that enabled him to stand upright and walk without pain.
Khan would have to wear the brace for four to six weeks, doctors said.
The 60-year-old was ordered by doctors to remain immobile after he fractured several vertebrae and a rib when he fell from a fork lift.
The general election was won by the PML-N led by former premier Nawaz Sharif while Khan’s party finished in third place in the National Assembly or lower house of parliament.
The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf is also set to form government in the militancy-hit Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
