Imran Azmi is a humour writer of repute

Hyderabad, December 11: Distinguished humour writer Mujtaba Hussain paid a tribute to the versatile genius of Imran Azmi and termed him as an extraordinary pen man. He was inaugurating the collection of his humour essays and poems yesterday evening at Urdu Hall, Hyderabad.

The title of the book is “Don’t Read this Book” Dr. Baig Ehsaas, Head of the Dept. of Urdu of University of Hyderabad, Dr. Mustafa Kamal, editor “Shugoofa” monthly, Mr. Muztar Majaaz, Prof Shahid Ali Abbasi, Head of the Dept. of Islamic Studies, Osmaina University, Hyderabad, Mr. Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez, editor “Gawah”(witness) weekly, Dr. Talath Sultana, Dr. Asfiya Kausar and Moosa bin Ibrahim, also spoke on this occasion. Mr. Mujtaba Hussain said that Imran Azmi is a Scholar in thirteen languages. He can write essays and compose poem s in all these languages. He said that if Ulema pay attention to humour writings, it is a welcome gesture. Dr. Baig Ehsas said that Imran Azmi is of the status of Pakistan’s humour writer Mushfiq Khwaja. Dr. Mustafa Kamal said that if Imran Azmi continues to write humour, he can scale greater heights.
