Giving much relief to government employees, the Telangana state government lifted the ban which was imposed on promotions and transfers of state-cadre employees, and employees of Secretariat.
Promotion and transfer of state-cadre employees had earlier been banned till the allocation of state-cadre employees between the successor states of AP and TS was made.
However, number of eligible employees retired and some are on the verge of retirement without getting promotions due to the ban, as it will take considerable time to complete the process of final allocation of cadre strength, vacancies and employees between TS and AP by the central government.
After examining the matter, the state gave permission on Tuesday to make promotions, appointments by transfers involving promotions, purely on temporary and ad hoc basis, to the posts having state cadre and also to the posts in the Secretariat.
