Important files missing from Wakf Board, admits Minority Minister

Minorities Welfare Minister Syed Mohammad Ahmedullah on Friday admitted that several important files were missing from the Andhra Pradesh State Wakf Board office.

Replying to a query raised by Congress MLC Mohd Jani in the State Legislative Council, the minister said that an enquiry has been ordered into the issue. The enquiry team has been asked to verify th facts and the report was expected to come in two months. He assured that stern action would be taken against the erring officials responsible for missing of files.

Showing displeasure over the minister’s reply, the MIM members protested and demanded the constitution of a House Committee to look after the matter.

However, council chairman Dr A Chakrapani assured them that the minister has promised to place the enquiry report in two months. “If the report is not placed, then we could think of forming a House Committee,” he said.

Replying to another question raised by MLC Peer Shabbir Ahmed, the Minorities Welfare minister assured the Legislative Council that steps were being taken to impart latest computer education to the Muslim students.

He said that Andhra Pradesh Urdu Academy was running 82 computer training centres to impart computer education to Muslim students across the State. He said that around 7,800 students were getting benefitted with the centre every year.
