Calligraphy and Good handwriting hold a remarkable position in Urdu language. Though it was thought to be an outmoded art after the advent of computers but it holds importance even today because of the beauty and aestheticism attached to it. The art of calligraphy started in Iran and spread across the world. These views were expressed by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan editor Siasat while addressing the inaugural function of calligraphy classes.
He said that the large number of boys, girls, women and men attending the calligraphy class reflects the extent of interest that Urdu knowing section of the population has with calligraphy.
He told that people keep the tughras and tablets adorned with Quranic ayahs at their homes with great reverence.
Famous calligrapher Nayeem Sabiri is giving lessons in calligraphy classes arranged by Siasat.
