With the changing times, the importance of Unani Medicine is on the increase but due to lack of Govt. support, its development is hampered for which continuous struggle is needed. These thought were expressed by Mr. Abid Rasool Khan, Chairman, A.P. Minorities Commission while addressing a function of excellence award distribution yesterday.
Mr. Abid Rasool Khan supported the proposal of establishing a Unani Medical College and assured that every possible help would be provided.
Mr. Shujath Ali, Deputy Director of Doordarshan expressed his desire that the Unani Doctors should adopt Unani System of Medicine instead of using Allopathy System of Medicine because the future of Unani System of Medicine is brighter than any other system.
Doctor Meer Yousuf Ali, Addl. Director of Unani Medicine extended his cooperation for producing Unani Medicines in modern forms.
Earlier Dr. Mohammed Rafi Hyder Shakaib announced that very soon, Unani Medicines would be available in the form of capsules in the market at reasonable rates.
Dr. Wasia Naveed, Principal, Govt. Nizamia Tibbi College, Charminar released “Unani Medical Journal” produced by the students. Dr. Rahman Khan, General Secretary of the Association highlighted the activities of the Association. Dr. Ahsaan Farooqui, Dr. Mohammed Saleem, Prof. Masood Ahmed, Dr. Syed Mohammed Mahboob Basha, Principal of Dr. Abdul Haq Unani Medical College, Kurnool, Dr. Syed Fareeduddin, Principal, Tipu Sultan Unani Medical College, Gulbarga and Dr. Akhil Quadri, Principal, Luqman Medical College, Bijapoor also addressed the gathering. Dr. Mohammed Vikhar Hyder, Joint Secretary of the Association conducted the meeting.
