* Hajj is performed in this month.
* The first ten days of Zul Hajjah are extremely sacred and good deeds are most beloved to Allah in these ten days.
The Prophet (sallellahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Zul Hajjah).” Then some companions of the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “Not even Jihad?” He replied, “Not even Jihad”, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah’s sake) and does not return with any of those things.”

* 9th Zul Hajjah is a very sacred day. When asked about fasting on the 9th of Zul Hajjah (Yaum e Arafah) Rasool Allah saw said: “It expiates the sins of the preceding year and the coming year”

* The second Muslim festival Eid ul Adha falls on the 10th of Zul Hajjah.
* An animal sacrifice, in memory of the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (a.s) is offered on 10th Zul Hajjah
