Implementation of note ban was not correct: Rajnikanth

NEW DELHI: Superstar Rajinikanth who is expected to foray into politics accuses Centre of flawed implementation of note ban.

At the media interaction on Monday, the actor-politician, who has a huge following in Tamil Nadu and beyond when asked about his view on the impact of demonetisation and told reporters that “the way it was implemented was not correct. Its implementation was flawed. It needs to be discussed in detail.”

However, at the same media address, Matinee icon also gave a cryptic response when a reporter asked the formation of a mega national alliance against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Hinting at the Opposition’s efforts, he shot back saying, “Is BJP is that bad a party that the entire political community is joining hands against them? If everybody (opposition parties) feel that way, then it should be definitely like that.”

Fans and supporters are hoping that Rajinikanth likely to make a formal announcement of his political party on December 12 — his birthday.
