Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare Mr. Ahmed Nadeem, IAS reviewed the functioning of Minority institution working under his Dept. separately. He convened a meeting of the officials of Minorities Finance Corporation, Wakf Board and State Hajj Committee. Mr. Ahmed Nadeem instructed the officials of these institutions to ensure the implementation of the welfare schemes of the Govt. meant for Minorities. He stressed the need for Finance Corporation for paying special attention for implementing the schemes connected with banks. He elicited information about computerization of Wakf record. He told wakf officials that they should avoid any lapse in the protection of Wakf properties because due their lethargy, Wakf properties will go into the hands of illegal possessors. He instructed the wakf officials to prepare a detailed report about illegal possessions of wakf properties. The officials of Wakf Board briefed him about the functioning of Survey Commission and other sections of Wakf Board. He put question to the officials of Minorities Finance Corporation about the scheme related to bank loans. He told that Govt. has allocated Rs.100 crore to benefit 33 thousand beneficiaries. He informed that very soon a meeting of the bank officials will be convened because he received many complaints about repayment of loans. Govt. will ensure that there should be some progress in the implementation of both these schemes before December 2013. He told the officials to start implementation of welfare schemes after the deadline of Code of Conduct for Panchayath Raj Election comes to an end. It was also decided to convene a meeting of the executive Director of Minorities Finance Corporation. General Manager of the Corporation, Mr. Vilayath Hussain presented the details of the functioning of the corporation. Executive officer of State Hajj committee, Mr. M.A. Hameed gave the details of the function of State Hajj Committee. The Secretary expressed his satisfaction and told that top priority should be given to offer best service to the Hajj pilgrims. The officials of Hajj Committee requested to take immediate steps for the release of budget for the construction of the new Hajj House in one lump sum. The Secretary assured that he would represent the matter to Finance Dept. on the receipt of a written application from the Hajj Committee. Mr. Hammed informed that the application of such of the Hajj pilgrims who have no deposited their amount would be reject after 27th July and their vacancies would not be filled up from the candidates of the waiting list. It is said that such vacant seats would be allotted to the private operators. Govt. thinking on these lines.
