The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday clarified that the implementation of the agreement entered by the government with the Telangana employees unions during Sakala Janula Samme, was under process and the file was moving in the Finance department.
Reacting to the demand of the opposition parties in the Legislative Assembly, Kiran Kumar Reddy stated that the Court has accepted the agreement entered into by the Government with the Telangana employees unions on March 15. The file regarding implementation of the agreement was moving in the Finance Department and the process would be completed within four or five days.
He also said that the process of withdrawal of cases against Telangana students was under progress. There were some legal problems in withdrawal of cases filed against the students, who were involved in serious offences. There was need to file affidavits by the Public Prosecutors case by case. Stating that the Public Prosecutors were raising objections in individual cases, he informed that the Government would issue directions to PPs once again in this regard.
Responding to the comments made by TRS MLA K Taraka Rama Rao that the earlier Congress Government had withdrawn all the cases linked to vandalism following Vangaveeti Ranga murder through a GO, the Chief Minister pointed out that several changes have taken place in the law in the last 20 years. Now, it was not possible to withdraw the cases against students with a single stroke.
Kiran Kumar Reddy has also informed that the Home Minister would make a statement in the house on the status of withdrawal of cases filed against the Telangana students. Stating that it was not possible to announce a time frame for the issues pending in the case, he made it clear that his government was making sincere efforts for withdrawal of cases against T students. Majority of the cases filed against T students were already withdrawn, he added.
