Implement Urdu as second official language: MIM to TS Govt

MIM MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri on Friday asked the State Government to ensure implementation of Urdu as the second official in Telangana State.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Pasha Quadri said the despite declaring Urdu as the second official language, the State Government took no steps to implement the decision. He alleged that applications in Urdu language were not being accepted in government officials. Similarly, he said that the posts of Urdu Translators were lying vacant in government departments including Legislative Assembly. He said Tri-Lingual formula was not being implemented properly in the State. He said that the candidates should be allowed to write all recruitment tests also in Urdu language.

The MIM MLA also sought clarification over the closure of Urdu Maskan in Khilwat (Old City).

Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy assured the MIM MLA that the government would look into his demand. (INN)
