Sambalpur, December 08: The land oustees of the Sambalpur-Talcher rail line have demanded to implement the orders of the Supreme Court and provide job to them in the Railways. Sambalpur Talcher Railway Land Oustee Family Association President Saifur Babu urged the East Coast Railways authority to implement the court orders with immediate effect failing which they would be compelled to appeal for contempt of court. In response to the appeal, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) had set aside the appointment of 511 already appointed in Group D posts from outside quota, depriving the land oustees. However, the Railways challenged the order in the Odisha High Court but the latter in 2010 dismissed the writ petition and upheld the decision of CAT. The Railways then appealed before the Supreme Court, which upheld the decision of both CAT and the Odisha High Court this year. Mr Babu urged the General Manager of the East Coast Railways to take necessary action against the erring officers who have made a mockery of the court decision.
