Sending a letter to chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao, Congress deputy leader of legislative council Mohammed Ali Shabbir demanded measures to implement minority reservations. He stated that EAMCET results are released and counselling for admission into medicine will begin from June 25, while engineering counselling will begin form June 29. Government had promised to provide 12 pc reservations to Muslims and scheduled tribes in education and employment hence government should issue necessary notification in the form of ordinance in this connection before beginning of counselling so that Muslims and scheduled tribes could get the benefits of reservations.
M A Shabbir told that if government delays issuing ordinance students’ one year will be wasted and they would be deprived of reservations benefits.
