Haridwar: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should implement anti-cow slaughter laws across the nation, just like Uttar Pradesh.
“If Uttar Pradesh Government can implement anti-cow slaughter laws then I think Prime Minister Modi should think about implementing it in the nation. With this, all the dirty politics that is being played over the issue of beef will stop,” said Ramdev here.
Targeting Prime Minister Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had earlier said that those who spoke against ‘pink revolution’ should ban beef exports as they were now in power and alleged that they wanted to disturb the ‘secular’ ethos of the country by raising such issues.
A blame game has erupted between Bharatiya Janata Party and ruling Samajwadi Party in the state over the killing of 50-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq, who was lynched to death in Dadri’s Bishada village over rumours that he had stored beef at his residence.
Cow slaughter is banned in Uttar Pradesh.
