Even as the countdown has begun for 2014 General Elections and only 34 days are left for the polls to be conducted, Congress is facing a challenge with regard to giving tickets to its leaders. The first list has been almost finalised where there is only single contender.
Former state minister Mohammed Fareeduddin had contested from Amberpet last time but now he is mounting pressure on high command to give ticket from Zaheerabad Lok Sabha constituency, while Congress high command is considering giving ticket to the present MP.
Party is seriously considering the names of Chairman State Minority Commission Abid Rasool Khan from Musheerabad assembly constituency, Pradesh Congress president Minority Department Mohammed Sirajuddin from Kukatpally assembly constituency, former MLA Younus Sultan from Khammam assembly constituency, president Congress Mahboobnagar district Obaidullah Kotwal from Mahboob Nagar constituency, Congress leader Khaleequr Rahman and TRS leader Syed Ibrahim.
