Editor Siasat Mr. Zahed Ali Khan handed over a cheque of Rs 70000, to a hardworking and honest woman Atiya Begum (30), resident of Vattepally for construction of her house. While receiving the cheque, Atiya Begum who has been living in a dilapidated house sans roof, cried out of happiness. She prayed for editor Siasat Mr. Zahed Ali Khan and those who extended support.
It must be recalled that a report was published in Siasat daily nearly 4 month ago about the miserable life of Atiya Begum and her family. The report was also uploaded along with the video clip on Siasat’s internet edition. Atiya Begum is a mother of 4. Her husband used to work in a glass shop. But now since he is suffering from TB, he can do only simple work. Her 11 year old daughter is completely handicapped.
After watching the heart touching report many from the country and abroad came forward to extend financial help. One among them is Mohammed Ilyas Ali, a youngster from Yakutpura who is residing in Australia. He reached Siasat office and handed over Rs. 70000 contributed by him and other NRIs residing in Australia.
