A report regarding non arrangement of disposal of waste papers in the libraries of Urdu Academy was published in Siasat daily. The news had an immediate impact and Prof. S.A. Shukoor without delay visited Urdu Academy Central library at Purani Haveli. Siasat correspondent was also present along with him.
Taking the news published in Siasat seriously, the newly appointed Director of Urdu Academy, Prof. S.A. Shukoor took immediate action and visited the Central library himself.
He was shocked to see the precarious condition of library building. The library has no parking facility for the researchers. Besides this here is no drinking water facility. Moreover the whole library is the victim of mismanagement.
Library administration does not keep record of the books available in the library for which Prof. S A Shukoor took a serious note and directed to maintain record of all the books within 20 days.
Prof. Shukoor ensured that the waste papers of all the 70 libraries of Urdu Academies would be collected at one place and tender would be issued to sell it.
