I’m still getting into shape: Priyanka Chopra

Mumbai, July 18: From having big budget films, to essaying a gamut of memorable characters (one in Fashion that also gave her a National Award) to having a year that saw her win close to 20 awards — a feat achieved by only a few in the history of Indian cinema, the sassy celluloid charmer is sitting pretty on the top.

However, the hunger to better herself with each movie is still burning in her heart with the same intensity.

“I have been so lucky that I have got the opportunity to work in such memorable films. Each one of them has been special to me and the offers that are coming my way are great.

I’m thankful that the industry sees me as a versatile actor because all the films that I’m being offered are so good that I’m spoilt for choice,” Priyanka told Media minutes before she packed her bags for a one-week vacation to an undisclosed location to spend her birthday with her gal pals.

Sources indicate that she flew to Phuket for a beach holiday.

Insiders say Priyanka has six back to back films —Anjaana Anjaani, Saat Khoon Maaf, Don 2, Race 2, The Italian Job and others — that will hit the silver screen soon.

So, she wants to unwind before the hectic schedules start. “I have an insane year ahead of me. So, I thought why not head out and relax and then come back to the madness,” she says.

The actor is also heavily working out to reduce weight that she had to put on for Vishal Bhardwaj’s movie because both in Don 2 starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and her reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi she needs to flaunt a completely toned body.

With barely any time left before she starts shooting, close friends of the actor say her rigorous training will put her body to test. “I’m still getting into shape. I’m still not there and so rigorous workouts is a must for me. I’m hopeful that I will get in shape in time but yes, I have to push my body to the hilt,” she says.

Priyanka has faced complications in the past with her health breaking down due to excessive work and hectic schedules.

“Both the projects are very dear to me because I will get to do action again. It will be a welcome change for me. So, I’m going to give it my all and I hope all will be fine,” she ends.
