Illegal possession on Wakf land in Utkoor

Qazi Abdul Khaliq, President of the Managing Committee of Adil Shahi Masjid and Maulana Khursheed Husaini told the News reporter Siasat that there are Wakf properties in Utkoor but there is no one to take care of them.

A school is being constructed adjacent to the Shrine of Hazrath Syed Shah Wali. People are trying to erect school gate on the eastern side which will close the thorough fare for the public. On the open land of the Shrine, the school management tried to construct school building. This property belongs to Mohammed Ghosue S/o Mohammed Hussain. In front of this property, the Shire of Saint Hazrath Syed Shahi Wali exists. Sandal used to be brought out on the occasion of Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) birthday for the past 50 years. In 1975, some elderly people had submitted a petition to purchase this property for the purpose of extending the premises of the said Shrine.

Later, another petition was also given to Collector of Mahboobnagar District for purchasing this property. So far, Wakf authorities have not bothered to take up this case. The graveyard which is adjacent to Eidgah is a registered wakf property with number 681.

Wakf officials had surveyed this property six year back. It may be noted that a temple has also been constructed deliberately on the graveyard land and it is a hurdle in the construction of a compound wall of the Muslim graveyard.
