Illegal parking mafia around Numaish

Hyderabad, January 17: Corporator Majlis Bachao Tahreek Mr Amjed Ullah Khan has addressed a letter to the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy urging him to look into the illegal parking by anti-social elements in collision with All India Industrial Exhibition (AIIE), Hyderabad Police and Greater Hyderabad Municipal officials.

Mr Amjed Ullah Khan, in a letter addressed to the Chief Minister on Sunday, alleged that the non provision of parking place in Exhibition ground was giving rise to various anti-social elements having political patronage to occupy the roads and footpaths which was giving problems to the visitors and became a major obstruction in free flow of Traffic in the City. Those persons are charging 50 to 100 rs as parking fee.

Regarding fee charged through illegal parking he told that nearly Rs. 5 lakh are collected daily of which 2 lakh are distributed among police officers, politicians and municipal officials.

He urged the Chief Minister, and Home Minister, Police and GHMC officials of the AIIE society to provide parking space separately for two, three and four wheelers. The GHMC may be directed to clean all roads, footpaths heading towards exhibition. Local police and Traffic police should be held accountable for harassment to the visitors and traffic jams. AIIE society may be asked to depute volunteers on all roads heading towards exhibition to control traffic. No parking should be allowed from MJ Market Crosss Road to Gandhi Bhavan to Nampally Ek Minar Mosque to Darusalam Road Junction. Necessary action taken may be intimated.
