Hyderabad, December 1: The Waqf board’s negligence regarding Dargah Mohiuddin, Tankbund is regrettable. Illegal occupants are carrying out unIslamic activities on the valuable waqf land of the said dargah thanks to the negligence of Waqf board. A temple has been setup on the waqf land. Business is carried out by illegal occupants on the surrounding land of mosque and graveyard.
Few years ago former minister of waqf Mohammad Ali Shabbir had assured to expel illegal occupants and to ensure protection of waqf land but in vain.
As per the waqf board gazette the land of dargah Mohiuddin is 25 guntas but thanks to the negligence of concerned Muslim ministers of waqf board the graveyard area has shrunk. A car servicing centre has been established at the entrance of graveyard. Fishes are sold; people drink there. Advertisement poles have been installed by the municipal department and the income goes not to the waqf board but to the municipal corporation.
On the other side of the waqf land a temple has been setup. According to waqf record the temple is on the waqf land of the dargah Mohiuddin but the temple administration has to say that the temple has nothing to do with the waqf land.
Protection of waqf land of Dargah Mohiuddin is the need of the hour and it is the duty of the waqf board to oust the illegal occupants from the land.
