Manipulation of records to encroach upon lands of mosques and Dargahs has become a common thing today but the land grabbers have gone so far that they are indulging in nefarious practices of evacuating mosques so as to occupy mosque land.
One such incident occurred under Narsangi area limits at the city outskirts where according to locals and ‘musallis’ the land grabbers are stopping them from offering prayers in the mosque so that they can encroach upon the mosque land. They are threatening the people who enquire about the ongoing digging work on the land surrounding the mosque.
It is said that Masjid Qutub Shahi located at Naiknam Pura has a 400 years old history. It is being tried by the land grabbers to illegally occupy the mosque land. They are harassing the persons who are seeking clarification regarding ongoing digging work. Last week they even assaulted a ‘musalli’.
A delegation of ‘musallis’ took the matter to collector Rangareddy. Meanwhile Deccan Waqf protection Committee and Heritage Watch Organisation announced its complete support for the movement and assured visit to the place.
