There are several waqf properties in Shaikpet around the Qutub Shahi tomb on which colonies have been inhabited by illegally occupying them. An old ancient historical tomb in Shaikpet is now under the control of a non Muslim family where there was a shrine of a cleric.
The 2181 sqyd land under the tomb has been encroached upon and houses have been constructed on the land. The shrine which has gravestone with Quranic ayahs inscribed on it, is being desecrated. They have tied up the dogs at the entrance of the tomb so that no one can enter to visit the shrine. It has been learnt that the purpose behind tying the dogs at the entrance is to prevent any Muslim from entering the tomb.
A non Muslim family has occupied the dargah. Cooking is also done inside the tomb. Local non Muslims have built an RCC building on the waqf land adjacent to the tomb. Despite repeated complaints Waqf Board paid no heed to the matter.
