New Delhi, October 10: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today entered face-to-face mode of teaching in addition to distant learning, with the inauguration of first newly constructed classroom block at the Maidan Garhi university campus here.
IGNOU Vice Chancellor V N Rajsekharan Pillai inaugurated the block, which has five classrooms in each block, varsity spokesperson Shikha Gandhi told.
Prof Pillai said, ”With this, IGNOU has entered face-to-face mode of teaching in addition to Open and Distance modes of learning. Several on-campus programmes have also been launched recently.” Student attending postgraduate programmes in Journalism and Mass Communication, Electronic Media Production and Management, Social Anthropology, Actuarial Science, Gender and Development Studies and Social Work will be beneficiaries of the new classroom block, he added.
