Generally exhibitory Iftar parties are organized by some political and other organizations to curry favor with politicians, police and other officials. A huge sum of money is spent and heavy concessions are gained against it, which is nothing but a political maneuver.
Muslim advocates in a press statement told that hosting Iftar parties at a time when refugees of Assam and Burma are displaced and starved is deplorable. The organizers of Iftar parties should donate the Iftar party fund which they have collected to Siasat millat account or Jamat Islami’s Assam Relief Fund and call off Iftar parties. Even then if the Iftar parties are hosted, public should boycott them.
