If Muslims want to live in India, they should abandon eating beef – CM of Haryana comments on Dadri incident

Chandigarh: CM of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar described Dadri lynching incident was the result of a misunderstanding and it was also wrong. He also said that those who killed Akhlaq Ahmed could be under the law but before awarding punishment, the reasons for committing such an offence should be taken into consideration. He further told that If Muslims want to live in India they should abandon eating beef since cow is a holy animal of the Hindus which is treated as mother.

Mr. Khattar (61) has a long association with RSS. Recently, Haryana Assembly adopted resolution banning cow slaughter. The violation of this law would entail a punishment of 10-year imprisonment and beef-eating can land an offender in prison for five years.

Khattar added that if someone kills his mother or molests his sister, his anger against the person would naturally increase. India is a democratic country but freedom in democracy has limitations. Freedom of one person should not hurt the sentiments of another person.

A person can remain a Muslim even if he does not eat beef. In the holy books of Islam and Christianity nowhere it is written that they should eat beef.
