Jammu, October 14: Idea Cellular today became the seventh mobile services provider to start its operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We have designed our mobile network and offerings for Jammu and Kashmir keeping in mind the mobile communication needs of the people of this state,” Idea Director (Operations) Ambrish Jain said, after launching its telephony services here.
He said the idea network in the state would cover a large population and provide affordable tariff plans and value added services for its subscribers.
The company offers all local calls at 40 paisa per minute and STD calls at 60 paisa per minute.
Initially, the network will cover Jammu city, Bari Brahmana, Bishnah, Katra, Udhampur, Jammu-Katra highway, Jain said adding that the services would be soon expanded to all major towns in Kashmir Valley such as Srinagar, Lakhanpur, Badgam, Anantnag, Mattan, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian and Ganderbal.
