Agriculture research institute ICRISAT and warehousing firm NCML have signed an agreement to develop a framework to enable small-holder farmers to access markets and get the right price for their produce.
This partnership will enable co-operation on knowledge support, exchange of relevant information and development of
joint projects to be utilised for agri-business activities and also scientific and business publications,” NCML said in the statement.
In this regard, the memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and National Collateral Management Services Limited (NCML) in Mumbai recently.
Both ICRISAT, NCML has come together to promote innovative agri-food processing technologies and primary processing,create value added products, food product testing and training, surveys, quality control, quality assurance and documentation and practises to deal with contamination in food commodities.
ICRISAT conducts agricultural research for development in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa with partners throughout the
world, while NCML is country’s leading player in warehousing services, supply chain management solutions, testing and
certification.
