Dubai: India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal entered into the top five among the bowlers in the updated ICC ODI players rankings, released on Monday.

Chahal moved up by one place to take the number five position. His team-mate and fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar raised up six places to attain 17th spot.

New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult has surged in the list after finishing with 12 wickets in the series against India, which culminated in Wellington on Sunday. He has moved up seven places to grab the third position, with only India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan ahead of him.

Among the batsmen, former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni moved up three places to secure 17th position during a run, which includes three consecutive half-centuries for a player of the series award against Australia. Middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav, who now sits at the 35th spot, is another one to advance for India in the list led by their captain Virat Kohli.

In the ODI Team rankings, India has gained one point and retained their number two spot. New Zealand has slipped behind South Africa to take the fourth place. Completing the top five led by England, Pakistan takes a seat below New Zealand.
