ICC helps NZ Cricket’s search for new premises

Christchurch, April 05: The International Cricket Council says it will provide $1 million to help New Zealand Cricket move to new premises after its headquarters were destroyed in February’s Christchurch earthquake.

New Zealand Cricket has been operating from temporary offices in Christchurch since the magnitude 6.3 quake on Feb. 22 which killed as many as 182 people. The loss of its offices, and access to files and records, forced it to postpone a scheduled tour to Bangladesh later this year.

The ICC said in a statement Tuesday it will provide the $1 million from World Cup profits to help New Zealand Cricket find new premises.
