ICC Champions Trophy final was fixed by Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh, alleges Union Minister

New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale alleged that Virat Kohli, India captain, Yuvraj Singh, a senior player and the team fixed the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final match against Pakistan which was held on 18th June 2017.

According to the news published in NDTV, supporting his allegation, minister questioned, “How could the cricketers, who played so well in the entire tournament, not perform in the final match?”

He said that Virat Kohli who scored century many times against Pakistan and Yuvraj Singh who played so well in the past, looked like they played to lose. He also demanded an inquiry.

He further said that as Indian player kneeled in front of Pakistan, it brought disrespect to the nation.

It may be mentioned that Pakistan dominated with both bat and ball to thrash a rather off-colour India by 180 runs and win the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 cricket tournament on 18th June.

This was the first ever Champions Trophy title for Pakistan. The South Asian nation claimed their third ICC tournament, having earlier won the 50-over World Cup in 1992 and the World Twenty20 in 2009.

Put in to bat, Pakistan rode on a century by opener Fakhar Zaman to post a massive total of 338/4 in the allotted 50 overs.

In reply, India was all out for 158 runs in 30.3 overs.
