New Delhi, August 05: The nation has been put on high alert following intelligence inputs that Pakistan-based terrorists may strike in a desperate bid to derail the Independence Day celebration on August 15.
The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has issued terror alert for 12 cities ahead of 63rd Independence Day this year.
According to the IB inputs, the Pakistan-based militant outfit HuJI has prepared fidayeen team (Suicide attack team) to target 12 major cities in India.
Following the advisory, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad have been put on high alert.
The IB has asked the police and security agencies to be on high alert as militants could target crowded public places like markets, railway stations, bus terminals and parks besides other places of mass gathering.
Meanwhile, all the states have increased vigil and are taking precautionary measures to ensure security during Independence Day celebrations.
It is noteworthy here that Pakistan-based terrorists are always against any thaw in Indo-Pak relations. Militant outfits are desperate involved in derailing peace dialogue between the both archrivals.
