IAS officers demand high-level probe against Mahabubabad MLA

A delegation of the Telangana State IAS Officers Association met Chief Secretary S.P. Singh at the State Secretariat on Friday demanding high-level probe into the incident of Mahabubabad MLA Shankar Naik’s misbehaviour with District Collector Dr. Preethi Meena.

Led by Association President B.P. Acharya, the delegation submitted the Association’s resolution on Mahabubabad incident that occurred on July 12 during the launch of third phase of Haritha Haram programme.

The Chief Secretary heard the issue and thanked all for showing their solidarity to Dr. Preethi Meena. He said that Government would take action as per law. He also said that women should be respected in the society and government will setup institutional mechanism to prevent such incidents in future by setting up a Grievance Redressal Cell.

B.P. Acharya requested that the investigation be entrusted to a Lady Officer not below the rank of IG. He thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and the Chief Secretary for prompt action and also thanked the media for showing support towards the incident.

Principal Secretary to CM Shanti Kumari, Prl. Secretary to GAD Adhar Sinha, Secretary Finance Sandeep Kumar Sultania and other women IAS Officers were also present. (INN
