The lawyers staged a protest here on Wednesday demanding that the Karnataka Government handover the probe into Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer D.K. Ravi’s death case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The lawyers, who marched on the streets shouting slogans in support of the deceased officer, alleged that the state government was trying to hush up the case.
Uday Kapur, one of the protesting lawyers, said Chief Minister K. Siddaramaiah and Home Minister KJ George must resign over the incident.
The parents of the deceased IAS officer staged a protest outside the State Secretariat building in Bengaluru today and demanded a CBI probe into the mysterious death of their son.
The Karnataka Government has, however, so far rejected the demand and asserted that the CID of the state police is capable of handling the investigation in the case.
The 2009 batch IAS officer, who was deputed as the Joint Commissioner of the state’s Commercial Taxes Department, was found mysteriously hanging by a fan in the bedroom of his private apartment in South Bengaluru’s Tavarekere earlier on Monday. (ANI)
