IAS officer arrested, Rs 4.60 cr found

Hyderabad, May 04: An Indian Administrative Services Officer (IAS) who was the Joint Collector of Ranga Reddy District of Andhra Pradesh was arrested by the sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of Income, here today.

ACB’s simultaneous searches at various places covering his office and residence and unearthed movable and immovable assets possessed by him and his family members worth Rs.4.60 crore.

The searches were conducted at-a-time at Banjara Hills and Himayathnagar in the State Capital.

According to ACB Joint Director Sampath Kumar, properties worth Rs 4.60 crore, including bank balance and cash of Rs 15 lakh, were recovered during the raid from the residence of Joint Collector Jaganmohan here.

The immovable assets inludes two houses at Hyderabad worth Rs 1.30 crore, six flats at different areas worth Rs 1.07 crore and eight house plots on the outskirts of the city worth Rs 1.40 crore.

The basic official value of these immovable properties is to the tune of Rs 3.77 crore.
