IAS aspirant launches crowdfunding campaign to raise money for his IAS coaching

Hyderabad: Ali Basha is a 22-year-old civil service aspirant from Nandikotkur in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district.

According to the report published in the Times of India, Basha has launched a crowdfunding campaign, on Bangalore-based online crowdfunding marketplace Fueladream, to raise money to meet his IAS coaching expenses.

He aims at raising Rs 1.12 lakh by May 1, through the campaign, and is hopeful to join the next batch of IAS aspirants at Narayana Institute for Civil Services in May. Basha is said to have so far raised Rs 9,000.

Basha’s father is an onion merchant while his mother is a daily wage labourer, hence they could not afford to bear his coaching expenses. Earlier he used to get scholarships which enabled him to continue education. Basha also appeared for Andhra Pradesh government’s Group-II recruitment tests and is awaiting results.
