Pakistan”s Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday clarified that he never compared the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack with the Babri mosque demolition, and said if there is any misperception or miscommunication that should be cleared.
“I think it was wrongly referred to. If you take my statement, I mentioned just the bad incidents, which happened in Pakistan-India relationship, which brought miseries to the people here. I never said that 26/11 is comparable with Babri mosque, not at all,” he told Asian News International (ANI).
Malik further challenged all the reports, and said that he was misquoted by the media.
“The Babri Masjid is linked to inter- faith. And in the entire world whatever is linked with inter- faith causes problem. So, I talked about Shias and Sunnis being killed in Karachi, FATA, the Babri Masjid, 9/11, 26/11. I talked about the entire world. I never compared the two. If any Einstein has drawn such a comparison and formulated it into a sentence, then I challenge it,” said Malik.
“I have not said anything of this kind and if there is any misperception or miscommunication that should be cleared, I never meant that. I never said it; I was rather misquoted,” he added.
The visiting Pakistani Minister was involved in a controversy by reports, which quoted him equating the Babri demolition incident with the Mumbai terror attack. (ANI)
