‘I still love my husband, will pray for his recovery’ says Shami’s estranged wife Hasin Jahan

New Delhi: Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami’s estranged wife Hasin Jahan wants to meet the cricketer after he had met with a road accident and suffered a head injury. Speaking to media, Jahan said “My fight is against what he has done to me. But I do not want him to get hurt physically. He may not want me as a wife anymore. But I still feel for him and love him because he is my husband,” adding “I will pray to the God that he recovers quickly.”

Shami’s car had clashed with a truck on March 24 when he was travelling from Dehradun to New Delhi. Shami reportedly had to undergo stitches on the head. Jahan further said that she had made several attempts to contact him, but nobody answered her calls. “I have been trying to get in touch with my husband. But he is not responding to my calls to his phone. Even his family members were not telling me where he is currently located. I feel helpless,” Jahan added.

Sources had confirmed the accident and said he was fine after taking rest. Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Anti-Corruption Unit also gave a clean chit to Shami on Thursday after Jahan had accused Shami of match-mixing along with the other charges of attempt to murder, infidelity and domestic violence.

The cricketer has been booked under various non-bailable and bailable sections of the Indian Penal Code.
